TÜYAP Anadolu Fuarları A.Ş. Managing Director Cihat Alagöz* Would you please give us information on your company; when and where did you start your operations and under which market circumstances?
Tüyap Fairs was established on 28 June 1979 in Istanbul. The main area of operations is setting up fairs within Turkey as well as outside Turkey.A turning point for Tüyap was 1996 when our "Tüyap Fair and Congress Center" in Istanbul opened up. The facilities, built on a modern infrastructure, were designed to meet the requirements of contemporary fairs. Tüyap Fair and Congress Center has 14 Halls and it the one and the largest fair and exhibition facility owned by the private sector in Turkey. Parallel to its growth and development in Istanbul, Tüyap has invested heavily in developing fair and congress facilities around Anatolia. Tüyap is one of the most prominent brands in fair and exhibition sector with a network of domestic facilities in Adana, Ankara, Antalya, Bursa, Diyarbakır, Eskişehir, Gaziantep, İzmir, Kayseri, Kocaeli, Konya, Sakarya, Samsun ve Trabzon and offices in 7 cities in Cairo, Moscow, Sofia, Teheran, Tiblisi, Jordan and Skopje. Tüyap also has 89 representative offices in 27 countries. Tüyap Fairs started its activities in Adana in 2006. Tüyap Adana Fairs has organised 114 fairs in Çukurova Region in the last 11 years and has hosted more than 5 million visitors from 32 countries
** What was the course of growth followed in sales and exports Since Tüyap was first established? In which the markets have Tüyap grown and became efficient?
Tüyap Fairs is a company standing on strong foundation blocks. In its 38 years of serving business communities, we have followed a continuously developing innovative and dynamic path, investing in future both in and out of Turkey. We continue to be the pioneers of the fairs and exhibitions sector in Turkey. In çukurova region we have set up 144 fairs in the last 11 years. 5 million visitors have attended these fairs from 32 different countries. We contributed to the exports and the parallel increase in employment figures in Adana, which is now considered to be the “City of Fairs” in the region. Tüyap Adana Fairs is trying to bring the manufacturers and the consumers under a single roof to establish new partnerships and business opportunities. In addition to visitors from around Turkey, Tüyap is paving the way for visitors from countries such as Russia, Bulgaria, Iran, Georgia, Syria, Northern Cyprus, Lebanon, Kuwait, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Irak, China, India, Spain, Germany, Italy and Switzerland.
** What steps have you taken to establish the TÜYAP BRAND and what type of investments have you made? What were the promotional activities you have set up?
Tüyap Adana Fairs has organised 144 different fairs in 16 different areas since 2006. These were on books, construction, heating and ventilation, HOME building, food, furniture, agriculture, greenhouse and garden, automotive, plastics, packaging, sports, utility infrastructure, education, pret a porter, woodworking machinery. A total of 5 million visitors attended these fairs. Our priority is to make Adana a brand in all aspects. We are trying to put Adana on the world’s as well as Turkey’s agenda with its agriculture, furniture, construction and food. We take this criterion in deciding which fair to set up and we energise and create activity in industries with the highest potential. Starting with the middle east, we aim to become the eyes of Adana that open up to the world.
** Where do you place your company and/or your brand in Turkey and the global markets? What are the regions or countries your brand is most well known?
With our offices in Cairo, Moscow, Sofia, Teheran, Tiblisi, Jordan and Skopje as well as representative offices in 27 countries, we are one the largest in Turkey and the world in the field of fairs and exhibitions. We are actively operating in countries including Germany, Spain, Italy, Belgium, China, India, Bulgaria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Azerbaijan, Lebanon, Kuwait, France, USA, Irak, Syria, Iran, Saudi Arabia.

** Can you provide us with an outlook for the next five years or longer, what are your plans and targets for investment, production, sales and export?
Going forward, in the next five years, we are planning on increasing the number of fairs by adding new ones. We are working on gaining international status for our fairs. As of last year, our agriculture fair has earned the international status. We have started with agriculture and plan to continue with the remaining fairs.
** Will you tell us about the five critical factors that have brought you company to these days? Can be one sentence along with the year.
23 September 1996 : Tüyap Adana Liaison Office opened up.
02 June 2006 : Adana Fairgrounds Center was leased from Çukurova Fairs A.Ş. to set the base for the fairs and exhibitions activities.
15 November 2006 : Tüyap Adana International Fair and Congres Center opened its doors with 13.500 m2 covered space. Under it was 11.000 m2 fair grounds, 2.000 m2 services buildings and 150 m2 meeting room.
28 February 2008 :Tüyap Adana Fairs A.Ş. was established.
We have capped our 10th year in 2016 with a total of 5 million visitors in a decade
In 2016 our Agriculture Fair has gained INTERNATIONAL FAIR status
